Get ready for some Halloween fun at the Gateway Arch with the annual Frights and Heights event! We encourage everyone to come dressed in their best costumes and join in on all the exciting Halloween activities.
Hop on the Trick or Tram for a ride to the top of the tallest monument in the U.S. and enjoy some spooktacular sights along the way. You’ll be entertained by living history performances featuring the ghosts of Dick Bowser, Meriwether Lewis, and others. Plus, there will be a puppet show sharing some scary true stories from Lewis and Clark’s journey west.
Families can also have a blast with freaky face painting, boo-loon animals, creepy crafts, and mesmerizing music. It’s going to be a fantastic time for everyone!
Join in the spooky fun at St. Louis’ Gateway Arch during the Frights and Heights event on October 19th! This event is filled with eerie excitement. General admission is free, but registration is required.

Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival 2024
October 26 & 27, 2024 | Kimmswick Visitor Center
The Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick attracts over 100,000 visitors annually, making it the largest event in the town. Participants can enjoy the small-town atmosphere, live entertainment, and around 500 to 600 food, drink, and craft vendors. However, there’s also a lot of behind-the-scenes work. On Friday, the Kimmswick Historical Society gathers to peel and prepare the apples. Then, before dawn on Saturday and Sunday, the apples are cooked in a kettle over a wood-burning fire until the fragrant spread is thick enough to be sealed in jars. Once you’ve tasted the apple butter, you’ll want to stock your pantry with this indulgence.
Join the largest annual celebration in Kimmswick on October 26-27, 2024, at the Apple Butter Festival! This beloved event offers live entertainment at a small-town charm. Witness the traditional apple butter-making process or explore family-friendly activities like train rides, pony rides, and a petting zoo. The festival runs from 10 AM to 5 PM, with shuttles available for easy access.
